Tide Points (TP) are used to determine a player's status or "Tier" within Ocean Rewards. These points are strictly for tracking progress toward tier advancement or maintenance.
How are Tide Points earned?
Tide Points are awarded by participating in eligible real-money games. This includes activity across both Poker and Casino games on the Natural8 platform.
What games can be played to earn Tide Points?
Virtually all real-money games are eligible to award Tide Points. This ensures that regardless of a player's preferred game type, their activity contributes toward their tier status.
If a tournament has an overlay, are Tide Points still awarded?
Yes, Tide Points are still awarded in tournaments with an overlay. However, the number of points earned is adjusted based on the overlay value per player. Since players in these events are already receiving additional value. Tide Points are reduced in correlation to that overlay. In cases where the overlay is exceptionally large, there may be instances where no Tide Points are awarded for that specific event.
How many Tide Points are awarded for playing games?
The allocation of Tide Points in Poker games is primarily based on the amount of rake or fees generated. However, Natural8 utilises an approach that considers several factors to support a healthy gaming ecology. These include among many others:
- Play History and Game Selection
- Opponent Diversity
- Deposit and Withdrawal History
- Participation in Features and Promotions
In Slots & Casino Games, the RTP% (Return To Player) dictates how many Tide Points are awarded for play. Games with a lower RTP% will award more Tide Points than games with a higher RTP%. On average, a $2 bet on Slots will earn 1 Tide Point, and a $6 Bet on Casino Games will earn 1 Tide Point; however, exact earning rates vary from game to game.

Do Tide Points decay or expire?
Tide Points do not decay. Because their sole purpose is to define a player's tier for a calendar period, Tide Points reset to zero on January 1st of each year. The total points accumulated during the previous year are used to set the player’s guaranteed tier for the upcoming year.
Do players earn Tide Points when purchasing another player's action?
When a player stakes another individual, the purchaser does not earn any Tide Points for that transaction. Points are only generated through active gameplay, not through the purchase of staking shares.
Does selling action affect the rate at which Tide Points are earned?
Selling action does not impact the rate of Tide Point earning. The rate remains dynamic and is determined by rake paid, game type and several other factors. Even if a player sells staking, they will receive the full amount of points assigned to that entry without any deductions.
Conversely, while the backer receives their portion of any tournament winnings, they do not receive any Tide Points from the staked player's activity.
Tide Points not increasing during a Rush & Cash session
In Rush & Cash games, Tide Points are not updated in real-time while at the table. Instead, the points are calculated and added to the player's balance only after they have officially left the player pool.
Tide Points not updating immediately after exiting a tournament
Tide Points for tournament play are not awarded at the moment an individual player is eliminated. Instead, the points are processed and credited to the account once the entire tournament has concluded.
Are Tide Points awarded if a tournament is cancelled due to technical issues?
If a tournament is cancelled due to an unplanned outage or technical issue, the distribution of Tide Points depends on the player's status at the time of cancellation:
Active Players: Players who were still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will receive a full refund of their tournament fee (rake) according to the site’s refund policy, but they will not earn any Tide Points for that event.
Eliminated Players: Players who were eliminated prior to the cancellation will retain the Tide Points earned during their participation but are not eligible for any other refunds.
How are Ocean Rewards managed during special promotions?
